WENDELL, N.C. — Three teenagers were injured following a Tuesday afternoon crash in front of Corinth Holders High School.

Highway Patrol Troopers said that the three teenagers were riding in a truck that pulled out in front of a car on Applewhite Road while exiting the school’s parking lot.

Authorities said that the vehicles collided and a teen who was riding in the bed of the truck was ejected. He was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries and was in critical but stable condition Tuesday night.

The other teenagers were also taken to WakeMed, but the extent of their injuries were unknown. Authorities said nobody in the truck was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries, troopers said.

Authorities said charges are expected in the case, but they are waiting to learn more about the extent of the injuries suffered by the teen who was ejected from the truck.
