Teen dead, driver charged after Durham County crash
A teenager died and a 21-year-old was hospitalized after a car crossed the center line on Old Oxford Road, went off the road and hit a tree down an embankment, authorities said.

A 17-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Durham County.
Jordan Shaye Allen was the passenger in a car driven by Dereck Wayne Johnson, 21, around 8:45 p.m., the State Highway Patrol said.
The car was traveling south on Old Oxford Road when it crossed the center line, went off the road and hit a tree down an embankment, authorities said.
Allen and Johnson were ejected.
Allen died, and Johnson was hospitalized. Johnson’s condition was not known.
Johnson was charged with driving while impaired and reckless driving.
An investigation is ongoing.
