— For the last seven years, Anna O’Brien has been teaching at Fuquay-Varina Elementary Sc hool. However, her passion for children started much sooner. She’s the oldest of four sisters.

"I’ve always felt that I wanted to work with kids. It was just something that I was natural and good at, and I just enjoy it so much, and I can’t imagine doing anything else," she said.

Since virtual learning began, O’Brien has worked hard to re-adjust her curriculum for her kindergartners.

"A lot of our kids, this is their first school experience at all, and so what we’ve really been focusing on is being a relationship first. The academics will come later. I just want them to know that they are loved, and I want them to just enjoy school and enjoy learning," she said.
