The Ragin Cajun booth has outdone itself with this new dessert offering.

Ragin Cajun's Deep Fried Banana's Foster
RALEIGH, N.C. — Being from New Orleans, I love Bananas Foster. The traditional dessert features bananas, butter, rum sauce and ice cream.

A lot of places outside of New Orleans try to make this dessert and fail miserably. But the folks at the Ragin Cajun booth at the N.C. State Fair have gotten it right. And, shockingly, made it even more decadent by deep frying the bananas!

I got a chance to try this dessert during the State Fair media lunch earlier this week. The warm bananas are perfectly deep fried and blend so nicely with the homemade rum-flavored sauce that is drizzled on top. And the vanilla ice cream is just the icing on the cake.

You won't want to share this, but you probably should as it is pretty big.

Check out the Ragin Cajun booth in the midway for other New Orleans' favorites, including po-boys, seafood and alligator on a stick.
