The products and services mentioned below were selected independent of sales and advertising. However, Simplemost may receive a small commission from the purchase of any products or services through an affiliate link to the retailer's website.
The 16-piece collection by ThinkGeek includes
dinner and
dessert plates, bowls and cups in four different colors and designs to represent
Disney princesses Belle (yellow), Ariel (teal), Jasmine (purple) and Cinderella (light blue). You can see the elegant designs of each set below, including signature items that represent each princess’s story!
The set is sold online only for $98.99, which makes each dish around $6. While they would make a wonderful wedding present for a Disney fan, the set is not eligible for Target’s wedding registry program, so if you’re eyeing them for your upcoming nuptials, you’ll have to ask for a gift card and order them yourself instead. Or, purchase the set
from Amazon instead, where you can add it to a list.
Unfortunately, all of the sets are sold out at both retailers at the moment, and
Amazon’s listing for the set even says, “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.” Simplemost has reached out to Target to find out whether they’ll eventually get more of these in stock, and we’ll update you as soon as we know. They were obviously popular, so here’s hoping they will return — there’s certainly a demand!
The
ceramic set is not
dishwasher or microwave safe and must be washed by hand. In other words, these are not your everyday plates — they’re meant for special occasions or to
store in a cabinet and be admired.
You’ll Need Disney Flatware To Go With Your Dishes
If you do splurge on the dishes, you will of course also need some themed flatware. ShopDisney has two Mickey Mouse sets to choose from, in either
stainless steel or
gold, for $65 or $69.99, respectively.
Both sets include six forks, knives, tablespoons and teaspoons, for a total of 24 pieces. All pieces include a tasteful Mickey Mouse cut-out design in the handle.
Aside from the obvious fancy princess dinner, the dishes and
flatware would fit in well with any Disney-themed party — especially if it’s one for grown-ups.
How To Entertain Disney-Style
The book has everything from a “Little
Mermaid“-themed bridal shower brunch” to a “Cinderella”-themed New Year’s Eve party.
