With temperatures expected to soar into the 90s this Memorial Day weekend, a splash in a pool or play in a sprayground might seem like the perfect way to pass the next few days.

Our pool and sprayground database has details about dozens of public pools and water play areas in the Triangle. Here are outdoor pools and spraygrounds that are open now or starting this weekend.

Raleigh

Millbrook Pool's summer hours start Sunday when the outdoor sprayground and wading pool are scheduled to open. It's at 1905 Spring Forest Rd.

Optimist Pool's summer hours also begin Sunday when its outdoor deep pool and wading pool open. It's at 5902 Whittier Dr., Raleigh. (Optimist Park recently got a new playground.)
The park is at 5900 Whittier Dr., Raleigh.
More information about these pools and others across Raleigh are on the city's website.

Durham

The city's outdoor pools won't open until June. Its spraygrounds may be open this weekend, I'm told, but it could take a few more days to get them ready.

Chapel Hill

AD Clark Pool at 216 N. Roberson St. opens for the season on Saturday, May 25.

Cary

The sprayground at Jack Smith Park, the town's first splash pad, opened for the season on May 13. It's at 9725 Penny Rd.
The park at 9725 Penny Rd., Cary, includes a playground, sprayground and dog park.
The misting garden at Kids Together Playground, 111 Thurston Dr., also is open for the season.

Fuquay-Varina

The town's splash pad is open for the season. It's free for residents, but they must have a resident splash pad card for entry. The card is free. It's $2 for non-residents.

Knightdale

The town's community pool opens for the season on Friday, May 24. It's at 202 Milburnie Rd.

Wake Forest

As I wrote earlier this week, the town's new Holding Park Aquatics Complex with three pools and two slides will open for its first full season on Saturday.

Youngsville

Hill Ridge Farm's splash pad is now open daily. Play is included in the cost of admission.
