Take a walk through Pullen Park
Get your bearings before you go to Pullen Park with this walking tour. The park opens at 10 a.m., Saturday.
Posted — UpdatedIf you've read Go Ask Mom in the past couple of months, you've probably followed along with the progress at Raleigh's Pullen Park.
OK .... I admit it. I'm a little excited about this. My six-year-old can't wait to get back on the carousel, scream through the train tunnel and explore the new playground. I can't wait to see my two-year-old, who was just two months old when Pullen closed in December 2009, begin to make her first memories at the park.
Some of us media folks were invited to the park for a final look on Thursday morning before Pullen opens to the public for good at 10 a.m., Saturday. I took the opportunity to shoot some video of the park. Consider it a kind of walking tour to help you get your bearings before your first trip back to Pullen. I even go into one of the new bathrooms.
The park will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from October to March. It is closed Thanksgiving day, Dec. 23 to Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
The hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily in April and September. They will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily from May to August.
So glad to have Pullen back.
