Customers surprised after runaway SUV crashes into Fayetteville antique shop

Owners and customers at a Fayetteville antique store were shaken but not hurt Saturday after an out-of-control SUV slammed into the business following a collision with another vehicle, authorities said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Owners and customers at a Fayetteville antique store were shaken but not hurt Saturday after an out-of-control SUV slammed into the business following a collision with another vehicle, authorities said.

The incident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. at The Pickin Coop, located in the 700 block of Ramsey Street, authorities said in a written statement. No life-threatening injuries were reported from the incident, police said.

Investigators said the SUV and another vehicle collided on Ramsey Street. That crash sent the SUV through the open garage-style door of the antique store.

The vehicle damaged merchandise and struck a sales counter. Damage estimates from the accident was not immediately disclosed.

Police did not say if anyone would be cited in connection with the incident.
