FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A suspicious package found behind a vending machine in the Goodyear plant in Fayetteville early Monday contained nothing dangerous, authorities said.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office dispatched its bomb squad to the plant after someone called to report the package, which contained a pipe.

"Nothing else was found inside the bag," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "There were no explosives found and no injuries reported."

Employees were evacuated and have since returned to work.
