Suspect wanted in Greenville home break-ins

Greenville police suspect that one man committed at least four home break-ins over the past nine months.

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Greenville police say they suspect that one man committed at least four home break-ins over the past nine months.

Charles Garrett Worthington, 29, is wanted on four counts each of breaking-and-entering and larceny. His last known address was in the 1600 block of South Pitt Street.

Investigators said that Worthington broke into a house in the 100 block of Luci Drive on May 7, a home in the 200 block of Beech Street on Nov. 26, and two homes in the 400 block of Brighton Place on Dec. 28.

Officers said the investigation into Worthington was continuing and they expected to file more charges against him.

Anyone with information on Worthington's whereabouts was asked to call the Greenville Police 252-329-4300 or Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777. Callers to Crime Stoppers never have to identify themselves.

Worthington has been convicted of drug possession three times in Pitt County since 1996, according to state Department of Correction records.
