CARY, N.C. — Cary police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in a kidnapping Tuesday afternoon.

Joshua Vanpatrick Haley, 24, of Raleigh is accused of going to 216 S. Lake St. and forcibly removing Kiara Lenise Jasper, 19, from the residence.

She was found about three hours later on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

Police are also looking for an unidentified female assailant who they said they believe was part of the kidnapping.

Investigators said Haley and the woman allegedly forced Jasper into a white and burgundy vehicle with "Budweiser" painted on it and that the female assailant drove while Haley held Jasper down in the back seat.

Authorities have not offered a motive for the kidnapping or said if the three people know each other, but they said Tuesday there had been a dispute at the residence the night before.

Capt. Mike Williams with the Cary Police Department said investigators still believe Haley is in the Wake County area and ask anyone with information on where he might be to contact Cary police at 919-469-4017 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for an arrest.
