Suspect sought in Rocky Mount homicide

Police are searching for a man suspected in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man last Friday.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Police are searching for a man suspected in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man last Friday.

On Monday, investigators named Quentin Antonio Harper, 22, of 719 Branch St., as suspect in the slaying of Amir Anderson, of Rocky Mount.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, police found Anderson dead in the front yard of Harper's home. Anderson had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Harper was described as a black man, with brown eyes, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He goes by the alias Quen-Quen.

Investigators have talked to two people of interest in the case: Kevin Daryl Harper, 47, and Jason Bernard Hicks, 26. Neither man has been charged, but detectives say they remain of interest to the investigation.

Police have not determined a motive in the slaying.
