Suspect sought in Durham bank robbery

Durham police are investigating a robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon at Carter Bank & Trust on North Roxboro Street.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon at a local bank.

Investigators say a man entered Carter Bank & Trust at 4251 N. Roxboro St. around 12:25 p.m., handed a teller a note demanding money and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A description of the man was vague.

He was possibly in his 60s and stood about 5 feet 9 inches tall and had a medium build, police said. He also had scruffy facial hair with some gray in it and was wearing a black fleece jacket with a hood and black pants.
