Suspect sought in Chapel Hill robbery

Chapel Hill police on Thursday said they are searching for a suspect in a strong arm robbery last week.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police on Thursday said they are searching for a suspect in a strong-arm robbery last week.

It happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 in the parking lot of the State Employees Credit Union, at 110 S. Elliott Road, police said.

The suspect was a heavy-set black man in his mid-30s with facial hair and gaps between his teeth, investigators said.

He was driving an older-model black pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet S-10, with white lettering on the side and back window.

Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller might be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
