Suspect sketch released in Cary burglaries

Cary police have developed a sketch of a suspect in a recent series of daytime burglaries at homes in the Nottingham Drive area.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police have developed a sketch of a suspect in a recent series of daytime burglaries at homes in the Nottingham Drive area.

Police said that in the past two weeks, six residential burglaries and one attempted burglary have occurred at unoccupied homes. Stolen items include gaming systems, jewelry and money.

Witnesses told police that they saw a man ringing doorbells repeatedly, then going around to the back of a house and throwing a rock or brick through sliding glass doors.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s, between 5 foot 3 inches and 5 foot 10 inches tall. He weighs between 130 and 160 pounds and has a thin build.

Anyone near the area during the time of the burglaries was asked to call Cary police at 919-469-4324 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746.

Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 rewards for the arrest or indictment of suspects in certain crimes. Tips are kept confidential at the caller's request.
