A Durham grand jury indicted Demario James Atwater on charges of:

<ul><li>possession of firearm by a felon and</li><li>possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule VI controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.</li></ul>

It is not clear if the charges are related to his arrest for Carson's murder.
