Suspect breaks into Fayetteville woman's home; attempts to sexually assault her

Fayetteville police are investigating a attempted sexual assault inside a woman's home.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating an attempted sexual assault inside a woman's home.

Police said the victim was inside her house off Owens Drive when she woke up to a man standing in her bedroom around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The man demanded money from the victim and then attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fight off the man, and he ran out of the house.

The man is described as between 20 and 30 years old, around 6 feet tall, with a thin build.

Police said at the time of the assault he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and a ski mask.
