Suspect arrested in Wilson homicide

Police have arrested a Wilson man accused of shooting and killing Jamar Clente Clemmons early Tuesday.

WILSON, N.C. — Police have arrested a Wilson man accused of shooting and killing Jamar Clente Clemmons early Tuesday.

Emergency crews responded to a shots fired call at 411 Lee St. NE and found Clemmons at the bottom of the front porch steps suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful, police said.

Devaris Montreal Lucas, 25, of 3802 Starship Lane Northwest, Apartment B, was arrested in the 4900 block of Caswell Place West just after 10 p.m. He was being held in the Wilson County jail without bond. He is due in court on Friday.
