Suspect arrested in Lake Lynn attack
Police charged a 17-year-old man who they believe attacked two women – including one in Lake Lynn park – in late March.
Posted — UpdatedDevin Terralle Carmen faces one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury for the Lake Lynn attack and one count of assault on a female in a March 23 incident.
He was taken to the Wake County Jail on Monday evening. Carmen's bond was set at $100,000 with electronic house arrest.
A 22-year-old jogger told police that a man attacked her from behind on March 31 while she was running in Lake Lynn Park. Her assailant twice hit her in the head with a rock, but ran away when she screamed.
The victim said she suffered a concussion and some neurological damage from the attack.
Investigators believe that Carmen grabbed a woman outside an apartment complex on March 23.
The two attacks raised fears about security and prompted police to increase patrols.
