— A man was charged with trespassing at East Carolina University after police say he assaulted a woman.

Capt. Chris Sutton, of the university’s police department, said 29-year-old Keith Dominique Blunt is accused of grabbing a woman from behind around 8:30 p.m. Friday near Fletcher Residence Hall.

The woman was grabbed by her arm and back, police said.

Blunt was previously banned from campus for repeatedly trying to enter a campus building hosting children’s summer camps.

On Friday, ECU sent an alert about the assault.

A student who got the alert saw a man matching the suspect’s description behind the university’s student health services building and then called police.

Blunt was arrested without incident.

“That just shows how important ‘see something, say something’ is,” Sutton said.

The assault victim did not wish to move forward with assault charges, Sutton said.
