<b>RODANTHE, N.C.</b> — A surfer may have been bitten by a shark Monday afternoon off the Outer Banks, officials said.

The 26-year-old man from Manteo was surfing off Sudie Payne Road, in Rodanthe, when he suffered an injury to his foot at about 2:30 p.m., officials said.

Dare County Emergency Medical Services took him to Outer Banks Hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.
