During the 2022 Super Bowl, WRAL News unveiled a commercial that touched at the heart of North Carolinians – the moment of anxiety and fear whenever the slightest chance of wintry weather is in the air.

Featuring our team of meteorologists, the commercial is rumored to be solely responsible for a shortage of milk and bread across local grocery stores.

In 2023, we went even bigger.

During halftime of Super Bowl 57, WRAL News unveiled a super-secret commercial featuring a few surprise local characters who are deeply passionate about North Carolina and its people. It included former legendary North Carolina men's basketball coach Roy Williams. In the commercial, Williams donned the headgear of Rameses, the ram mascot of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

WRAL anchor/reporter Gerald Owens sat down with Williams for a one-on-one interview. Watch WRAL-TV at 6 p.m. Monday to see the interview.

This past week, we revealed new details about our commercial on FOX 50 at 9 a.m.
