Sunshine, warmer weather set to return to the Triangle this week
Saturday was mostly gray, but sunshine will return to the Triangle by the end of the weekend.
Posted — UpdatedWRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell said the system that brought rain to the Triangle on Friday was moving offshore, "and it's going to take the cloud cover and the rain with it."
The chance of rain Saturday night is 20 percent, and Sunday is expected to be sunny and breezy, with winds gusting up to 20 mph.
Temperatures Saturday night are likely to drop into the mid-40s, and Sunday's temperatures will be in the 60s.
The rest of the week will be warmer, with Halloween Wednesday and Thursday having highs in the mid-70s and lows in the high 60s.
Sub-tropical storm Oscar could develop into a hurricane by Monday, although it seems unlikely to affect the United States, Campbell said.
WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said the storm will make it to Bermuda, before pivoting to the north and west in the Atlantic Ocean.
