Sunny skies, mild temps for action-packed day

After starting with temperatures in the low 30s Saturday morning, lunchtime will be in the low 50s. Temperatures will warm up to the high 50s by 4 p.m. Skies will be clear and mild.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Saturday will be sunny and mild for its load of events, meteorologist Kat Campbell said.

“No impacts if you have any outdoor plans – it is going to be a phenomenal day,” she said.

After starting with temperatures in the low 30s Saturday morning, lunchtime will be in the low 50s.

Temperatures will warm up to the high 50s by 4 p.m.

A low-pressure system is developing off the Florida coast, and it’s expected to make its way to the Carolina coast. With it comes more cloud coverage and possible isolated showers on Sunday.

Temperatures will still be in the 50s, though.

The chance of precipitation on Monday and Tuesday is only 10 percent. Some rain could approach Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Temperatures will get into the 70s Thursday and Friday.

In Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil appeared just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday and didn't see his shadow. That means he predicts an early spring.

Raleigh's Sir Walter Wally will make his prediction at noon.
