Suitcase prompts bomb scare at Food Lion

A suitcase left in a shopping cart has prompted a bomb scare at a Food Lion store in north Raleigh Sunday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A suitcase left in a shopping cart has prompted a bomb scare at a Food Lion store in north Raleigh Sunday morning.

Police said they are checking out the suitcase and treating it a suspicious package just as a precaution. No one has been injured.

The suitcase was found in a shopping cart in the parking lot of the store at 9101 Leesville Road shortly before 10 a.m. Hazardous materials teams from the Raleigh police and fire departments responded.
