Student cut in school bus fight

— A Southern Wayne High School student was arrested Wednesday after another student was cut during a fight on a school bus, authorities said Thursday.

Kierra Mitchelle Minor, 16, of 104 Pleasant Pine Drive, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. She was released on a $500 secured bond.

Two 16-year-old girls got into a fight aboard a school bus Wednesday morning, and one was cut on the face, authorities said. The type of weapon used hasn't been determined.

The victim was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she received 28 stitches to close her wound and was released, authorities said.
