More news from one of the Triangle's local Stroller Strides franchises:

Missy Currin, owner of Stroller Strides of Midtown Raleigh which meets at North Hills, will begin offering regular classes at the N.C. Museum of Art next month.

A grand opening event is scheduled at the museum's art park at 10 a.m. March 1. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the open area between the east and west museum buildings. A free Stroller Strides class will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will be followed by a raffle and playgroup. Moms of stroller-age kids, about 6 weeks to four years, are invited to attend.

The art museum classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Currin also will continue the North Hills classes, which are Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Stroller Strides' workouts are about an hour long and mix power walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller. During the workout, you interact with your child, singing songs to them, for instance. It's designed for all fitness levels, so don't worry if you haven't hit the gym lately. From experience I can tell you that it's a good workout. See some of my earlier posts on Stroller Strides in the box above.

Stroller Strides also includes the Luna Moms Playgroup with weekly playgroups, monthly moms night out activities and more.

For those of you in the south Raleigh and Wake County, Stroller Strides Raleigh offers classes, including Saturday programs, in the Cary, Apex, south Raleigh area.
