WRAL News viewers will continue to get the life-saving weather coverage they rely on as WRAL News announced their new on-air weather team. Familiar faces will headline the Triangle’s largest and most experienced team of meteorologists on WRAL.

Elizabeth Gardner will continue to lead WRAL and FOX 50’s weather coverage on weekdays in the morning and noon news. Mike Maze will lead the weekday evenings at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m. on FOX 50 and 11 p.m.

Kat Campbell will join evenings with Maze at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Wednesday to Friday and continue on weekend evenings. Starting in the fall, Campbell will become a mainstay for the 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekday news.

Aimee Wilmoth will appear on the new 9 a.m. newscast on FOX 50.

An announcement on a new weekend evening meteorologist will be released later this year.

“We’re putting together an excellent line-up of meteorologists, anchored by Elizabeth and Mike who have forecast weather here for a combined 46 years. Come this fall, we’ll have six full-time meteorologists on staff, giving us the largest and most experienced team in this area. Combine that with ever-expanding resources, and we’re in a great position to continue as leaders in weather coverage,” said WRAL News Director Rick Gall.

The WRAL Weather team brings viewers, readers, listeners and friends the most comprehensive severe weather coverage available, covering a 23-county region. The team brings multi-platform coverage to TV, the web and the WRAL Weather app, through the personalized warning service “WRAL WeatherCall,” that offers customized weather alerts wherever your phone goes, on your smart speaker, through social media, on radio stations across the state of North Carolina and through custom alerts and texts on all mobile device platforms.
