Woman seriously injured after shooting near Knightdale overnight

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital early Saturday morning near Knightdale.

Around 5 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the 6800 block of Forestville Road, just down the road from an elementary school and not far from residential neighborhoods.

One adult female was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

As of Sunday, she is still in the hospital.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office said investigators are talking with witness and gathering evidence, and are asking anyone with information, pictures, or/and videos related to the shooting to call 919-856-6800.
