Eight people have been shot in Durham in the past three days. A woman was shot Thursday evening near McDougald Terrace. Just a few hours before this shooting, a group of men got into an argument and fired shots near the downtown bus terminal.

On Wednesday morning, a man was shot while driving near the intersection of West Knox Street and Alabama Avenue, where he had crashed into two other parked vehicles. Later that day, four people were shot at the Duke Manor apartments; one man died.

Around the city, many are frustrated and anxious about their safety and their family's safety.

Some feel unsafe on the bus and in their homes.

Candice Herring is often at the bus terminal and she said she doesn't feel safe on or off the bus.

"This happens all the time," she said. "And the police, they can only do so much. And being, coming up here, I sometimes get a little unsafe, because sometimes it'll escalate to where it'll happen on the bus."
