The Wake County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing that sent a woman to the hospital late Thursday night near Zebulon.

A man has been arrested after a woman was found with serious injuries following a stabbing late Thursday night near Zebulon.
Joshua Richards, 42, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. to a reported stabbing near the intersection of St. Johns Church Road and Hopkins Chapel Road.
When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from an apparent stab wound. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the sheriff's office, Richards knew the victim.
Richards was taken into custody and processed at the Wake County Detention Center.
