A woman died early Sunday morning after crashing on I-885 in Durham.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday, the Durham Police Department responded to a crash on I-885 northbound near Ellis Road.

Police said a car ran off the road to the right, twice, before striking a ditch and overturning.

The driver, Robin Lynett Williams, 43, of Durham, was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the car.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
