Woman dies after being hit by car near Clayton

A pedestrian died late Wednesday night after she was hit by a car outside Clayton, according to the state Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on westbound U.S. Highway 70 at Sadisco Road in Johnston County.

The woman's name was not released.
