Woman charged with killing Spring Lake man

Cumberland County investigators on Thursday charged a woman with the death of a Spring Lake man last month.

Sherece Parker, 21, of 1416 Alden St. in Spring Lake, was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. She was being held without bond in the Cumberland County jail.

James "Esaw" Williams, 68, of was found dead inside his home at 403 Rutherford St. on Dec. 16. An autopsy determined that he died of blunt force trauma to the upper body, authorities said.

No other details about the case were released.
