Winston-Salem woman shot multiple times while sleeping

Winston-Salem police are investigating a shooting on Beth Avenue that took place early Sunday morning. A woman tells investigators she was sleeping in her home, when she heard gunshots.

Officers were called to the 600 block of Beth Avenue around 3:45 a.m. and found a woman had been shot multiple times in the leg and torso. She was taken to the hospital and treated.

The Winston-Salem police department reports a dark-colored vehicle was seen sitting outside of the victim's home at the time of the shooting and then left.
