Something exploded in the back of a home on Peachtree Street in Winston-Salem Tuesday afternoon, causing a fire.

Winston-Salem Police Officers were on the scene within seconds to help the family get out safely. They were already in the area responding to a shooting on Peachtree Street.

“Yesterday it was my daughter’s birthday. I went to take her pizza and to give her a gift at school when I got the call that my house was on fire," Shante Miller, mother of four said.

Miller's babysitter, three-year-old son and pets were all inside but all got out safely.

“It could have been way worse," Miller said.

Miller believes a stray bullet hitting an ATV that was against the back of their house caused the fire.
