A Wilmington mother has been charged in the death of her own child. Police say 24-year-old Mackenzie Reed accidentally killed her baby while co-sleeping. She's charged with felony child abuse and involuntary manslaughter.
WECT reported that the death happened on Oct. 3, 2023, when the child was just seven weeks old.
In 2022, Reed had another child who died under the same circumstances.
Reed was jailed on a $50,000 secured bond.
