The Kids Exchange children's consignment sale will open its doors to the public for three days starting Friday.

This massive sale takes over to large buildings at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. It pops up twice a year in the winter and again in the summer.

Public shopping hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. Many items are half off on Sunday.

If you go, know that there will be a lot of toys, clothes and other gear for kids to sort through. I recommend going with a plan and a list.

Also, another big requirement this year: All shoppers must pre-register on Eventbrite. You'll need to show the email ticket or receipt to get into the sale.

Admission to the sale is free. According to the sale's website, requiring registration "ensures the security of the sale by letting Kids Exchange know who's shopping with us."

Kids Exchange is one of the many children's consignment sales across the region. Our consignment sale database has details about more than two dozen others.
