A 32-year-old Cameron woman died Tuesday night in Harnett County when she lost control of her car on Ponderosa Road, state Highway Patrol officials said.

Troopers said Amanda Pittman was speeding around 9 p.m. when she lost control and ran off the side of the road, which was wet from Tuesday's rain.

Pittman, who wasn't wearing a seat belt or driving with her headlights turned on, was thrown from the car, which flipped and rolled on top of her, authorities said.
