Tuesday is primary day in North Carolina, which means political candidates are popping up across the state and their commercials are flooding television, radio and newspapers.
A record number of voters cast early ballots in the election, and the new voter ID requirement didn't cause any widespread problems.
For those who miss having a late spring primary, don't fret. North Carolina has scheduled a June 7 primary for the redrawn U.S. House districts and a state Supreme Court race. Candidate filing for those races opens Wednesday.
