Lots coming up this Memorial Day weekend!

First Fruits Farm Memorial Balloon Festival (First Fruits Farm, 832 Mort Harris Rd, Louisburg) - This balloon festival will take place Friday through Monday at First Fruits Farm in Louisburg. There will be live music, carnival rides, a beer garden, food trucks, nightly fireworks and, of course, hot air balloon flights. Tickets are available now and the event has on-site parking.

Candid Yams Kickback Movie Experience (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham) - Beats n Bars Festival and Candid Yams have partnered together to curate black cinema at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Friday night there will be a screening of "Remember the Titans." All movies are $10 per person, all kids under 10 years old are admitted free. All persons entering stadium need tickets. Gates open at 7 p.m.

Dine Out Downtown - Enjoy dinner from your favorite Downtown Raleigh restaurants as you dine outdoors on closed streets and listen to live music by local musicians. Streets will be closed and tables and chairs will be provided for safe, extended outdoor dining on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. in City Market.

Carolina Fear Fest (NC State Fairgrounds - Jim Graham Building, 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh) - This festival will celebrate all things horror. It will be at the Jim Graham Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday. There will be celebrity guests, vendors, panels and virtual events. Tickets are available.

Triangle Wind Ensemble Presents: An American Celebration: Back in Action (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - The Triangle Wind Ensemble will perform a concert filled with favorites from film, stage, video games and more on Sunday at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. Tickets are still available.

Movies under the Stars at Triangle Town Center (Triangle Town Center Mall, 5959 Triangle Town Blvd, Raleigh) - "Karate Kid" will be showing on Friday night at the Triangle Drive-In at Triangle Town Center parking lot in Raleigh. On Saturday, "Knives Out" will be showing. Tickets are available.

Animal Protection Society of Durham's Walk for the Animals - Grab a leash and join Animal Protection Society of Durham online on Saturday for the virtual Walk for the Animals event. The live event online will have contests, raffles, entertainment and more to help animals in need.

Moore Square Market (Moore Square Park, 200 South Blount Street, Raleigh) - Pick up your local produce and treats, meet up with friends and enjoy live music at Moore Square Market in downtown Raleigh every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Art-n-Soul Makers Market (Mystic Farm & Distillery, 1212 North Mineral Springs Road, Durham) - Head to Mystic Farm and Distillery in Durham on Saturday for this market featuring local artisans, food trucks, and bourbon tastings.

Memorial Day Crawfish Festival (The Honeysuckle at Lakewood, 1920 Chapel Hill Road, Durham) - Enjoy crawfish, craft beer and live music on Monday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Honeysuckle at Lakewood. Free admission. Crawfish and beer will be available for purchase.

Raleigh Memorial Day Ceremony (North Carolina State Capitol, 1 E Edenton St., Raleigh) - This ceremony will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday at the state capitol.

Orange County Veterans Memorial Day Events - Events being Saturday with the American Flag placements at the Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery (1721 Legion Road). Flags will be placed on marked graves of veterans from 6:30 am though 7:30 am. A short memorial service will follow at 8 a.m. On Monday, the Orange County Veterans Memorial Committee is hosting a memorial service at the Veterans Memorial site at 2501 Homestead Road at 7:45 a.m. followed by a memorial service. 

Memorial Day Remembrance (Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, Cary) - On Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the garden of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center there will be a ceremony honoring those that have fallen while serving in the armed forces. The ceremony will feature Town Council member Jack Smith emceeing the event and USO of NC Advisory Board Member Maulin Shah. Admission is free.

Memorial Day Blue Mile (Cape Fear River Trail - Jordan Soccer Complex, 455 Treetop Drive, Fayetteville) - This Memorial Day the Blue Mile will be held in place of The Fort Bragg Anchor Community's usual large Circle of Remembrance. There will be a Blue Mile set up along the Cape Fear River Trail starting at the Jordan Soccer Complex. People may come out anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and run/walk a distance of their choice.
