July 27-30: GalaxyCon Raleigh - GalaxyCon Raleigh is more than a comic-con! It’s a four-day festival of fandom with celebrities, artists, writers, voice actors, cosplayers, entertainers, creators, wrestlers, fan groups, panelists and people like you. Enjoy this event at the Raleigh Convention Center.

July 29: Taste of Soul NC (Variety Edition) - Head to downtown Raleigh's City Plaza for this family-friendly event featuring a DJ, live performances, a bounce house, games and a variety of cuisines.

Now-August 12: Uproar Festival of Public Art - This new arts festival is taking place now through August 12th in Orange County, North Carolina. Check out 60 outdoor works of art which are showcased throughout the downtown communities of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough and you can vote on your favorite.

Comedy and live music

July 28: Walker Hayes - See him on stage at Red Hat Amphitheatre.

July 28-30: Mike Epps – Mike is currently starring and producing the Netflix comedy “The UpShaws.” The show is based on his life of growing up in Indiana. See him on stage at Raleigh Improv this weekend.

July 28: Rory Scovel: The Last Tour 2023 - Rory Scovel can currently be seen starring as Danny in Apple TV+’s hour-long series “Physical,” as well as in Paramount Picture’s “Babylon.” You can see him on stage at Carolina Theatre of Durham.

July 29: Ladies R&B Kickback Concert - This show at DPAC features Jagged Edge, Lloyd, Bobby V, Case, Shai and J. Holiday.

July 29: Counting Crows Banshee Season Tour with special guests Dashboard Confessional - Counting Crows bring their Banshee Season Tour with special guests Dashboard Confessional to Red Hat Amphitheater.

July 30: Summer Concert Series - Head to Pullen Park in Raleigh for free live music from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Family fun

July 27-July 30: Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka! - Enjoy this family classic performed by the Orange County Community Players. Performances will be July 27-July 30 at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough, NC.

Now-July 30: The Drowsy Chaperone - The Summer Youth Conservatory proudly presents The Drowsy Chaperone. When a die-hard musical-theatre fan plays their favorite cast album, a musical magically bursts to life! Catch the show at the Playmersk Repertory Company in Chaple Hill.

July 25-30: Mary Poppins - This magical musical is based on the similarly titled Mary Poppins children's books by P. L. Travers and the 1964 Disney film, and is a fusion of various elements from the two, including songs from the film. See it on stage at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.

July 28: Bluey Bonanza - Your kids will love bringing their favorite show (it's a staple in Tara Lynn's house) to life! Make Bob Bilby and Unicorse puppet friends to take on adventures. There will be dancing with Chattermax, a longdog scavenger hunt, and more at the Hope Mills Branch Library in Cumberland County.

July 29 and August 5: Sweet Valley Ranch's Dinosaur World - As featured on WRAL's Tar Heel Traveler, experience a visit to the pre-historic world where you will see over 40 dinosaurs in a natural habitat right in Fayetteville.

July 29: Messtival - Get ready for a messy day at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham! Be sure to bring an extra pair of clothes and dive into activities with goo galore. Kids can enjoy everything from mud finger paint to slime to bubbles.

July 29: Family Performance Series - Learn what life is like in the knighthood, complete with an interview with a knight and a medieval combat demonstration. There will be two sessions at the North Regional Library in Raleigh.

July 30: Movies at the Library - Head to the East Regional Library in Knightdale for a free screening the animated film, Spies In Disguise.  The movie starts at 1:30 P.M.

Now-August 27: Last Sunday at Moorefields - Enjoy a stroll around the grounds and garden, and take a free tour of the historic house in Hillsborough. Visit the Moore family cemetery, where the beloved family cats are buried, or take a walk through the adjoining Seven Mile Creek Nature Preserve.
