As a 34 year-old native Goldsboro-ian (who has migrated to the Triangle), I grew up watching you give the weather every day. It was always (and still is) comforting to see a friendly, familiar face give the weather.

We also became concerned with your well-being; we noticed when you started wearing a wedding ring; we became concerned some time later when we didn't see it for awhile; we were happy again when we saw it back (am I making this up? this is all from memory, so please forgive me if I am speaking out of my backside :) ).
