Tuesday to bring more sun, warmer temps

Severe weather passed through the Triangle Monday morning and could hit areas south and east of Raleigh later in the afternoon, said WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport saw .5 inches of rain Monday morning, while some other areas near the Triangle saw as much as 2 inches, Gardner said.

There is a slight chance of a thundershower, mainly toward the southern coastal plain.
Tuesday night will be mostly clear and nice with lows in the 60s.
"We've been lucky to not have a long streak of hot weather (yet this summer)," Gardner said.
