Weekend forecast brings some relief from freezing temps

Wednesday was forecast to be much warmer than Tuesday's freezing high temperatures – but it's still cold.

Morning lows were in the upper teens to low 20s across central North Carolina, but forecasters expected the day to heat up some.

The highs were expected to reach the low- to mid-40s. Skies will be mostly sunny.

A southwesterly wind moving through the area will bring increasingly warmer days throughout the weekend.

Over the next seven days, the high temperatures are expected to be near 65 degrees by Saturday before dropping off to the 50s by Tuesday.
