Durant Road remains closed on Monday morning while crews work to repair a water main break that happened Saturday night.
According to authorities, the water main break happened on Durant Road near Sharpstone Lane.
Authorities at the scene said it is unclear if heavy rain from Tropical Storm Ophelia was the cause of the break.
A employee with the North Carolina Department of Transportation said on Saturday that the road could be closed until Monday morning and that they were calling additional contractors to assist with repairs.
The employee said the Monday timeline was because they're waiting on the necessary equipment to arrive.
