Water main break closes Athletic Club Boulevard in Clayton

A water main break on Sunday closed Athletic Club Boulevard near Riverwood Middle School and Riverwood Elementary School.

Around 9:30 p.m., the road was closed "until further notice" from Collinsworth Drive to the traffic circle at the fountain, near Stansbury Lane, due to a water line break.

According to the Town of Clayton, residents who live along the route can enter or exit the neighborhood from Club Connector Boulevard, Payton Drive or Swann Trail.

Riverwood Middle School and Riverwood Elementary School traffic will have to take Pritchard Road to Swann Trail and turn left onto Collinsworth Drive to enter the school parking lot.

Walkers will be able to walk down Athletic Club Boulevard to school as usual.

The businesses along Athletic Club Boulevard, which include a bagel shop, coffeehouse and pediatrician's office, are open and accessible from the parking lots behind them, officials said.

Water has been restored and no boil water notice has been issued for the area.
