Watch out for Wade Ave. closures through the weekend

Wade Avenue is going to be closed in both directions between Capital Boulevard and Scales Street on the weekend of July 9 and 10, 2022.

The closure starts Friday at 7 p.m. North Carolina Department of Transportation plans to have Wade Avenue open in time for Monday morning's commute.

This is all part of a water and sewer improvement project.

Get ready for detours.

From northbound Capital Boulevard, you'll head to Wake Forest Road, then Whitaker Mill and Glenwood to get back to Wade. That will add at least five minutes to the trip.

From southbound Capital Boulevard toward downtown, you'll turn onto Peace Street and Glenwood Avenue to get to Wade. That detour will add at least four minutes.

Raleigh leaders expect similar closures again next weekend.
