Wastewater truck overturns in Cary, driver taken to hospital

A sewer wastewater truck overturned Wednesday in Cary, and the driver was hospitalized.

According to the Cary Police Department, officers and firefighters responded to the crash at 11:50 a.m. near the intersection of Kildaire Farm Road and Autumngate Drive.

According to investigators, a small Acura SUV collided with the wastewater truck, causing it to overturn. The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Sewer wastewater spilled on the roadway, and firefighters are working with the town of Cary and Wake County officials to assess the spill and monitor cleanup.

Kildaire Farm Road fully reopened around 5:25 p.m.
