Wake County school board members are expected to discuss bus stop safety at a meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting comes a month after 12-year-old Anusha Vasudeva, a seventh-grader at Ligon Middle School, was struck and killed by a minivan outside the Ridgemont subdivision while trying to cross the road to catch a bus.
After the accident, parents and town leaders asked the school system to move the bus stops. Their request was approved and now the kids board the buses in the subdivision, instead of Morrisville-Carpenter Road.
The process of locating stops and reviewing parents petitions for change will be under the microscope during a presentation at noon for school board members.
